Alizee[a.li.ze] is a French singer, discovered by French singer, song writer and actress Mylene Farmer. she entered the world of Music, with her debut album Gourmandises (means Sweets in French),in 2000. First it was released in France in November 2000 followed by an international release on 13th March 2001. It received Platinum certification with three months of its release. Her first album earned her the distinction of being the highest selling female French singer in 2001.
She released her second album in 2003 which was not as successful as her debut album but she went on to perform more than 40 concerts throughout France, Belgium and Switzerland.
In late 2003 Alizee married fellow french singer Jeremy Chatelain and after her marriage she took break for about four years. Then she returned in December 2007 with her new album called Psychedelics.
Despite of her commercial success, critics felt that she is desperately trying to be sexy.
But she often received praises because of her deep voice and her ability to demonstrate her impressive vocal range.
